After a 2-year rebranding project, on June 15, 2016, the Blind River District Health Centre (BRDHC) integrated with Thessalon and Richards Landing – Matthews Memorial; together they are now the North Shore Health Network (NSHN).
Committed to quality care, the NSHN provides 24-hour emergency and acute care services with general practitioners on an on-call roster, along with the services of a nurse practitioner.
Various consultant services are provided at the NSHN from visiting specialists. Examples of specialty clinics include internal medicine, gerontology and psychiatry to name a few. In addition, NSHN in partnership with the Huron Shores Family Health Team offers diabetes education, dietician services, specialty foot care and various exercise programs.
NSHN is extremely proud of our approximately 200 dedicated staff, 50 physicians (active, supportive and locums) and 100+ volunteers who provide numerous hours of service each year.
The NSHN works closely with our communities and partners in care to ensure our patients, clients and residents receive the right care, at the right time, in the right place.
NSHN is serving a catchment area now stretched 160+ km along the Trans-Canada Highway starting from Echo Bay in the West, all the way through to Spanish in the East.
