FAQ

Yes! Meals on Wheels is a great partner opportunity where one person drives and the other person runs the meals to the client’s door.

  • My workplace is looking for half-day or full-day corporate volunteering opportunities, do you offer this?

Yes! Please reach out to Maiya Hallett mhallett@nshn.care and she would be happy to discuss what opportunities might be suitable for your group.

  • My son is in high-school and needs 40 hours of community service for high school, do you have any opportunities that are suitable for him?

Yes, we do. Although those 18 and under will need to be supervised/accompanied by an adult while volunteering in client-facing roles. You are welcome to deliver Meals on Wheels together.

  • What is required for volunteer positions?

For all client-facing roles, we ask for a Vulnerable Sector Police Check. For all driving positions, we ask for a G-class driver’s license and a minimum of $1 million in liability insurance coverage on your vehicle. When transporting clients, we ask for a Driver’s Abstract as well. We will also ask you to complete some program-specific training, so you feel prepared for your first shift.
