Hours of Operation: Laboratory Outpatient Collection Services 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
A laboratory is a key component of any hospital. Accurate, precise results are critical as at least 70% of a physician’s treatment of a patient is based on lab results. Laboratory services are utilized by the entire community: patients, physicians, nursing staff, and other health professionals. Laboratory testing in biochemistry, hematology and transfusion medicine is routinely done at NSHN Blind River site by licensed medical laboratory technologists. The lab is staffed with nine employees who provide coverage for emergencies 24 hours/day.
In addition, the laboratory refers specimens to other facilities for further testing and professional partnerships also extend to medical specialists, other hospitals and government agencies. Laboratory Outpatient Collection Services include child and adult venipuncture, ECGs and Holter/Loop monitoring.
