NSHN Long-Term Care Celebrates OLTCA Community Engagement Day and Hosts First Career Expo
Blind River, ON – On Friday September 12, the North Shore Health Network (NSHN) proudly participated in the Ontario Long Term Care Association’s (OLTCA) Community Engagement Day while hosting its first-ever Career Expo, welcoming over 150 participants.
Special guests included MPP Bill Rosenberg and Town of Blind River Mayor Sally Hagman, alongside residents, families, staff, and community members. The event provided a unique opportunity to showcase the essential role long-term care homes play in Ontario communities while highlighting health care and support service career opportunities at NSHN.
“Our 2025 engagement day was a great success,” said Tim Vine, NSHN President & CEO. “We celebrated our residents, showed local and provincial political leaders the good work our staff do, and highlighted the amazing ways to contribute to care for our next generation of care workers.”
The Career Expo component gave students and job seekers the opportunity to meet with NSHN staff, learn about a variety of roles in health care and support services, and explore meaningful career paths close to home.
“It was such a pleasure to host over 70 high school and upper year elementary students,” added Vine. “And no matter the age, everyone enjoyed the ice cream!”
NSHN extends sincere thanks to all who attended and contributed to making the day a success, with special appreciation to the Long-Term Care Family Council for their support.
